Our History

The Seattle Jeep Club was formed on August 1, 1959 and Incorporated October 21, 1960.

The original corporation papers were signed by 38 members. The Seattle Jeep Club then became 1 of the 6 Charter Clubs that started the Pacific Northwest 4 Wheel Drive Association. Throughout the years SJC has participated in many various types of events. Helping to rebuild forests after a devastating forest fire, taking boyscouts to the Naches Trail for a work party, Operation Shore Patrol Beach Clean-up, many trail repair work parties and even participating in 2 half hour shows by Exploration Northwest on KOMO 4 Television Station in Seattle. One of our most memorable moments was being able to take former Washington State Governor Dixie Lee Ray and her crew on a trail that was due to be closed in Eastern Washington. Thanks to her the trail was kept open and still remains open as of today.

Our objectives are to promote sound and sportsmanlike driving practices on and off the highways.
And to stimulate interest and enjoyment in four wheel driving and ownership, and to acquaint the public with the pleasures of four wheeling as a sport.

We currently have 17 Family's with 1 original Charter member and 1 honorary member in Germany. And an awesome Web Developer!
